(INV 71) UNDERWAY TO OMAHA BEACH, CHERBOURG, PENINSULA 5 June 1941 LS, MS, MCUs, soldiers of 16th Inf Combat Team and 5th Engr Specialist Brig disembark from LST. (Water is shoulder high). MSs, US soldiers dig in on beach. MS, LCTs, LSTs in channel. *LS from beach, damaged LST in harbor, dead US soldier on beach in fg. MSs, CUs, crew of ship raises anchor; crew hoses chain and anchor. MS, signalman with flags on LST. CU3 bow of ship cuts into water. LS, convoy en route. # This scene was obviously made after captioned date.
