Terms of Purchase

Access Footage makes available for purchase on www.accessfootage.com high resolution digital video files that are derived from audio-visual collections of the United States government considered to be in the public domain. Upon purchase, the customer agrees to the following.

1. Use of the materials

Access Footage is allowing the “Customer” (customer defined as purchasing entity) access to a digital master file. Access Footage grants Customer a non-exclusive, perpetual right to use the downloaded video file(s) subject to the following limitations:

Customer shall not, directly or indirectly, resell, redistribute, sub-license, or make the Materials available as standalone stock footage or digital video assets.

2. Copyright

No copyright, implied or otherwise, is granted to the “customer” by Access Footage. Where possible, Access Footage makes available on the website identification numbers from the film records of the originating collection. If deemed necessary the customer may use this information to conduct their own background research on the materials.

3. Third-party rights and indemnity

The “customer” assumes all responsibility for determining whether any 3rd party permissions relating to copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, or any other rights are required for their intended use of the materials, and for obtaining all required permissions or consents. The “customer” agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Access Footage, its officers, agents and employees, from and against any and all liabilities, losses, demand, penalties, costs, expenses, attorneys' fees, lawsuits, fines, judgments, or causes of actions.

4. Delivery and downloads

  • HD masters are available to download from your account as soon as payment is confirmed.
  • 4K masters are held in deep archive storage and are retrieved on request. We aim to email your download link within 48 hours, and the 2K version is available to download instantly in the meantime.
  • Delivery on a physical drive can be arranged at cost — please contact us.

Downloads stay available for 7 days, with no limit on the number of downloads in that time. For a title with a 4K master, that window starts when we send the 4K link. If you need access after it closes, get in touch and we will help.

5. Payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and shown before you pay. Payment is taken at checkout by card via Stripe, and your order is confirmed once that payment has been verified. We do not receive or store your card details.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Because you receive digital content immediately, by completing your purchase you ask us to begin supplying it at once and acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel once the download has been made available. If a file is corrupt, does not match its description, or cannot be delivered, tell us and we will replace it or refund you in full. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
